The blue hour is the period of twilight each morning and evening where we move from day to night. There is neither full daylight nor complete darkness. This time is considered special because of its unique quality of light.
The purpose of Blue Hour is to provide a place where artists and writers can gather, read and network. There are very few things greater than finding some new talent who doesn’t yet know they are good. We provide affirmation for artists.
So if you are interested in art, are an aspiring artist, or just enjoying seeing the world the way someone else does, then please come on in and enjoy.
We welcome submissions of all kinds. Please see the submissions tab above for guidelines and feel free to email us at bluehourmagazine@gmail.com with any questions.
We also publish submitted manuscripts a few times a year, and compile a yearly print Anthology. The Anthology is made from our favorite submissions that have been published on our site.

A great idea – and some great photos and poetry
Good eye for poetry. I wrote something called “Blue Time” last year which has to do with the name you chose. And I often refer to this time in writing. My girlfriend and I say that we fell in love during this time. Happy to come across this and I shall return.
Just a quick thank you for showcasing these incredible folks. Your site has been a very welcome, much anticipated addition to my Reader.
Thank you very much. It’s nice to have the freedom to share.
Speaking of sharing, I’ve nominated y’all’s blog for The Liebster Blog Award. It’s a nice way to network with other bloggers by recognizing admired blogs and discovering new ones. Here’s the short link: http://wp.me/p1XDRR-aD. I hope you’re able to participate!
Hello ~
I have really enjoyed reading your online magazine, and think both the poetry and prose featured are superb! It is wonderful you are showcasing this kind of talent and allowing poets, writers, and artists the opportunity to be seen by each other, as well as a larger readership. I see you have already been nominated for a blogger award, and I would like to also nominate you, and the “The Blue Hour” online magazine, for the “Very Inspiring Blogger Award.” The details associated with the nomination are at http://arabianmusings.wordpress.com/blogging-awards/ . I really enjoy the comments and material submitted, including two of my poems. Thank you. Writing poetry, to me, is similar to a large pair of eyes—watching, observing then serving up the menu, in our own creative way. Writing is not only fun, but something I must do. Blessings to all, from Nova Scotia, Canada..
Liked your concept. Enjoyed the poetry. So sent you some of mine.
