A Copernican Love Story by Constantine Mountrakis

There are stars
in the firmament
which reveal themselves only to me

Radiating
from places that accelerate
toward the unknowable past

Radiating
From tidal kingdoms
Each night rising and falling
And rising anew

Each night
High atop the spires of my longing
As a lone astronomer
Hoping for a glimpse
Of an elusive stellar body

Plotting and predicting
Its irregular orbit
Secretly wishing
For the impact
That will consume me

  1. I agree Audra, thanks for the comment.

Constantine Mountrakis submitted one poem which encompasses Loneliness, Love and Desire. We are glad to have him featured on The Blue Hour.
